*Khitma Halaqa Notes Day 14*❤️Was Iblis Misled?❤️
Today we will choose one sister and she will choose one ayah of Juz 14 for all of us to contemplate together. A sister chose this ayah from Surat Al Hijr:
(قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَآ أَغْوَيْتَنِى لَأُزَيِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَأُغْوِيَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ) 15:39 Surat Al Hijr(Satan responded, “My Lord! For allowing me to stray I will surely tempt them on earth and mislead them all together”)
*1. The tafseer of the Ayah*:Before contemplating any verse, we always look at the *tafseer* of the verse.Iblis said to the Lord:بِمَآ أَغْوَيْتَنِى(Because You misled me,) i.e., because You misled me and misguided me.
(I shall indeed adorn the path of error for them) meaning, for the progeny of Adam (AS).
فِى الاٌّرْضِ(on the earth,) meaning - I will make sin dear to them, and will encourage, provoke and harass them to commit sin.
وَلأُغْوِيَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ(and I shall mislead them all.) meaning - just as You have misled me and have ordained that for me. *2. The General meaning of the verse*:This verse is about Iblis’ threat to mislead Mankind, and Allah's Promise of Hell for him. Why does Allah allow him to do that? This is one of the tests for mankind. *3. Check your Understanding:*Did you understand the verse after reading the tafseer? We still don’t understand بِمَآ أَغْوَيْتَنِى why Iblis said that Allah misguided him? If we look at the Qur’an , every verse that mentions Guidance or Misguidance, there is an action mentioned that caused this.
In the previous verses, we see that Allah(S) commanded Iblis to prostrate to Adam but he refused. Iblis was arrogant and chose to disobey Allah’s command. He said: how can I make sujood to someone who was made from clay and I am made from fire! That shows how Iblis was very disrespectful to Allah (S) who created him. So what we see here in these verses, is that Iblis chose to disobey and that caused him to go astray, but he was blaming Allah and saying that Allah misguided him, which is not the truth. And we see this often that when someone gets in difficult situations, they always blame others for their problems. *4. Contemplate:* Let's start contemplating this verse by using the contemplation notebook (the link is in the group description box).
1. Use one of the Tadabbur Keys🔑 to unlock the meaning of this verse. Which key did you use?
2. What is the message that is sent to your heart after reflecting on this verse?
3. What was something new that you learned after studying this verse?
4. What are the rewards of following the commandment in this verse?
5. What will you lose if you don't follow this commandment?
6. What bad manners or habits should you work on removing after understanding this verse?
7. What good habits or manners should you work on after understanding this verse?
8. With whom will you share what you have learned from this verse?
9. What type of heart did you find in this verse? (Pure heart, Diseased Heart, or Hard Heart?)
10. Write your Duas that were inspired by this verse and make a dua to Allah to help you work on your action points.

*Khitma Halaqa Notes Day 9*🔑 *Tadabbur Key # 5 *🔑*❤️The Connection Between the Beginning of a Surah with the End of the Previous Surah❤️*
Whenever we start a new Surah, let us look at the End of the Previous Surah to see if we can find a connection between them. You can also compare the themes of these two surahs and see how they match Subhan Allah.
For example, one surah talks about a subject in general and then the next surah talks about the same subject in detail.
*Practice* use this key with Surat Al Maidah and Surat Al An’aam:
لِلَّهِ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا فِيهِنَّ ۚ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ قَدِيرٌۢ ١٢٠To Allah ˹alone˺ belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and everything within. And He is Most Capable of everything.
All praise is for Allah Who created the heavens and the earth and made darkness and light.1 Yet the disbelievers set up equals to their Lord ˹in worship˺.
What is the connection between them? Write down your thoughts 🌹
*Steps to use this key *-Choose two surahs -read the end of the first surah- the beginning of the next surah- read the tafseer of these Ayat and analyze the meanings - contemplate on the connection between these two surahs - find the message to your heart
*As you read the next Juz in your Khitma today, use this key whenever you start a new Surah*

*Khitma Halaqa Notes Day 7* 🔑 *Tadabbur Key # 4 *🔑*❤️The Connection Between the Ayah and its Ending❤️*
Before we discuss our next Tadabbur key, first let us look at one of the Sciences of Qur’an called:*Ilm Al Munasabat* This is the Science of Thematic Commentary of the Qur’an. It aims to find the connections in Qur’an and how Ayat and Surahs are related to each other and to certain themes. These studies help us discover the treasures within the Qur’an.
It is a science by which we learn about the interrelationship of the parts of the Qur’an to each other, and it includes:
- Linking the Surah with its Name- Linking the Beginning of the Surah with the End of the Surah - Linking Ayat- Linking Fiqh Rulings- Linking the End of one Surah with the Next Surah - Linking the theme of one Surah with the next Surah - Linking Stories- Linking each Juz
One aspect of this type of Qur’anic study is the *Study of the Ayat Endings*, which is the focus of our next Tadabbur Key.
🔑 *Tadabbur Key # 4 *🔑 :*The Connection Between the Ayah and its Ending*
Here we will study the ending of an Ayah and try to understand the wisdom behind why this ayah ended with these words. These endings are either naming a group of people, warnings, glad tidings, punishments, rewards, or Names or Attributes of Allah.
*Steps to use this key:*After reading the tafseer, 1. Identify the body of the ayah 2. Identify the end of the ayah 3. If it is a name or attribute of Allah look up the meanings4. Try to find a link between the ayah and it’s ending 5. Contemplate this link and look for the message to your heart
As you read the next Juz, use this key on certain ayat that stand out to you and analyze their endings to find a deeper message to your heart.

*Khitma Halaqa Notes Day 6* *❤️How Can I Reach Sincerity?❤️*
Before you start reading the Juz of Qur’an today, try this exercise.
*1. Ask yourself, What is your intention*??? Your answer might be “*my intention is for Allah (S)”*, but that answer is lacking. It needs to have more specific intentions.
*2. Listen to the verses with your heart and feel that they are the words of God Almighty.-Extract the verses that reflect the meanings related to the Qur’an-Pay attention to the words used in it-Now think.. what are the manners and etiquette that we must have in front of the Holy Qur’an?-We know that there are many beautiful meanings in the Juz, but we hope to focus in our Contemplation journey now on building our relationship with the Qur’an.
*Now write down your reflections*
In a Sahih Qudsi hadith narrated by Al-Bukhari, Muslim and others: that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Allah Almighty said: I am as My servant thinks of me, and I am with him when he remembers me, so if he mentions me in himself, I remember him in myself, and if he mentions me in an assembly, I remember him in a crowd better than them.
*Ibn Uthaymeen* said that it is very important to learn arabic language and grammar in order to analyze the Quran. In addition to the Tafseer etc…
*Intention means*:To know God more in what He wants.
We need to know how to read the words of Allah and benefit from it without an intermediary.
*Sincerity* : Whether people praise you or criticize you, it’s all the same to you. Don't expect praise, and don't think too much about it.
Do not be upset by criticism, consider it a Rizq provision to correct your mistake before you meet Allah Almighty, a scale that restores your humility in front of Allah and your knowledge of the truth about yourself, as every son of Adam makes mistakes. Know the real size of the world and put it in it.
*How do I reach sincerity*?To reach sincerity you need to struggle against your own nafs and desires and constantly purify your heart, while renewing your intention daily.
Your intention may change from time to time so it is very important to follow up with your intention and start from the beginning.
*When will I know that what I do is sincere to Allah (S)?*We need to keep striving for this until the day we meet Allah (S). And keep in your mind that Allah is generous, the Most Loving, the most Just and the Equitable.
قَالَ : ( تِلْكَ عَاجِلُ بُشْرَى الْمُؤْمِنِ )Abu Dharr reported: It was said to Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him): What is your opinion about the person who has done good deeds and the people praise him? He said: It is glad tidings for a believer (which he has received in this mortal world).
It is not hypocrisy for a person to take pleasure in an act of obedience; Because that is evidence of his belief.
The Prophet, may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: (Whoever rejoices with his good deeds and grieves over his evil deeds, then that is the believer among you.) Ibn Uthaymeen
Dr. Jeffrey Lang (The convert who was reading the Qur’an with the aim of finding mistakes) said: I was reading the Qur’an and I found the Qur'an reading me.
*How can the Qur’an read us??* As we read it we find descriptions of our own characteristics, strengths, weaknesses. This is what we feel when we read the Qur’an seriously. Trying to open the locks of our hearts to understand and bring out its treasures. Always remember how Prophet Muhammad’s (P) character was the Qur'an!!
*Dr Lang said* : How can we not be comfortable with the Qur’an, which is the words of our Creator, does the child not feel comfortable when he hears his mother’s voice, even if he does not understand her?!!!!It was as if there were special messages sent to us through the verses of the Qur’an and *we felt that in the previous days..right?!*
*The Qur’an is a light, so how can each of us not see it?*
We cannot reach the light of the Qur’an with dark deeds, with deeds that Allah is not satisfied with, or deeds that are forbidden to do and we expect that our heart will shine.
We cannot read the Qur’an and then translate it with actions that anger Allah…
Prophet Muhammad (P) was a Quran walking on the ground because he was applying the morals commanded in him, and explaining them with his personality.
*Just as the Messenger was a Qur’an walking on the earth.. the Companions were a Sunnah that walked on the earth.*

*❤️The Three Kinds of Hearts❤️*Halaqa Notes Day 2
(52) And We did not send before you any messenger or prophet except that when he spoke [or recited], Satan threw into it [some misunderstanding]. But Allāh abolishes that which Satan throws in; then Allāh makes precise His verses.[933] And Allāh is Knowing and Wise.[933]- Clarifying those issues which were misunderstood to remove any doubt.(53) [That is] so He may make what Satan throws in [i.e., asserts] a trial for those within whose hearts is disease[934] and those hard of heart. And indeed, the wrongdoers are in extreme dissension. (Surat al-Hajj)
There are three kinds of hearts:
*1.The dead heart*: It is the one who does not know his Lord, and does not worship Him by His command, and what He loves and pleases Him, rather it stands with its desires and egos and that leads it to a hard heart.
A hard heart is 1. the one who talks too much about things that doesn't please Allah, 2. who Neglects the obligations,3. who eats haram,4. who Underestimates sins and5. listens to what is Muharram.
*2.The sick heart*: It is a heart that has life and has a cause and has the love of Allah Almighty. And believes in Him. And is sincere to Him. And trusts Him and at the same time it includes loving His desires, giving preference to them, and striving to achieve them.
*3.The Pure heart:* it is the heart that is purified from polytheism, jealousy, hatred, envy, stinginess, arrogance, love of the world and power
*This heart won't be purified until it is safe from five things:1. Polytheism that contradicts monotheism2. A Bid’aa (بدعة)that goes against the Sunnah3. Lust that is against Allah's order4. And inattention to the contradiction of the Thikir5. A passion that contradicts abstraction and sincerity
To fix what has been corrupted from the heart:
Contemplate these ayahs
(Al-Hajj 32) That [is so]. And whoever honors the symbols [i.e., rites] of Allāh - indeed, it is from the piety of hearts.*Second*: لِيَذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللَّهِ عَلَى مَا رَزَقَهُمْ that they may mention the name of Allāh over what He has provided for them (Al-Hajj 34)*Third:*ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ذُكِرَ ٱللَّهُ وَجِلَتۡ قُلُوبُهُمwhen Allāh is mentioned, their hearts become fearful, and when His verses are recited to them, it increases them in faith; and upon their Lord they rely (Al-Anfal 2)
*Remember to always instill piety in your heart*
After learning this, *What are the messages that are sent to your heart?* *How can you Purify your heart by using this message?*
*A great Duaa to remember and Contemplate:*
*وعن أَبي الدَّرداءِ ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: كانَ مِن دُعاءِ دَاوُدَ صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم: "اللَّهمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ حُبَّكَ، وَحُبَّ مَنْ يُحِبُّكَ، وَالعمَل الَّذِي يُبَلِّغُني حُبَّكَ، اللَّهُمَّ اجْعل حُبَّكَ أَحَبَّ إِلَيَّ مِن نَفسي، وأَهْلي، ومِن الماءِ البارِدِ روَاهُ الترمذيُّ*Abu Ad-Darda narrated that : the Messenger of Allah said: “It used to be from the supplication of Dawud that he would say: ‘O Allah, indeed, I ask You for Your love and the love of those who love You, and for the action that will cause me to attain Your love, O Allah, make You love more beloved to me than myself, my family and cold water (Allahumma Inni-As’aluka Hubbaka Wa Hubba Man Yuhibbuka Wal-Amalalladhi Yuballighuni Hubbak. Allahummaj’al Hubbaka Ahabba Ilaiya Min Nafsi, Wa Ahli Wa Minal-Ma’il-Barid)He said: “And when the Prophet would mention Dawud, he would narrate about him, saying: “He was the best in worship out of all men.”
